Maggie at three months old with Lauren
BOSS Ch. Banda N Cluny's Maggie Muggins, CGN, DD, RN
Out of Cdn/Am Ch Duncan Farms Classic Cruiser x Cdn/Am Ch Banda N Cluny Just Do It, CGC
DOB. December 17, 2001
Died July 2, 2009
My daughter Lauren, (twelve years old at the time), chose Maggie from a litter of ten. She began showing Maggie, and the two went on to win two Best Puppy In Group awards, as well as a Group four. Maggie received her Draft Dog title, as well as her Rally Obedience Novice title.
Maggie had her Canadian Championship, and both her Majors in the U.S. - we just never bothered to go back and finish her U.S. Championship. Maggie also had her Canine Good Neighbour, her Rally Obedience Novice and her Draft Dog titles. She also went Best of Opposite Sex in the 2005 National Specialty, and is a Gold Level dog on the Canadian Mastiff Club Honour Roll as a Conformation Dog of Merit and a Working Dog of Merit.
Although we never got a definitive diagnosis on Maggie, we suspect she died of polymyositis - an auto-immune problem where the body's immune system attacks its own muscles. Maggie died within a few weeks of us noticing the first signs of her disease, and it was terrible to see her go downhill so fast with no explanation as to what was going on. Another 'teacher' dog, whom I learned so much from, including the fact that immune strength or weakness is inherited, as is vaccinosis.
